Analytics Strategy

Analytics Strategy & Planning

Most GA4 setups measure everything and answer nothing. A proper measurement strategy fixes that: the right KPIs, tied to real decisions, before a single tag is written.

Your team is tracking events, but the dashboards don't change any decisions. The problem is usually the same: the setup was built before anyone agreed what to measure, or why.

I work backward from the decisions you need to make and the revenue you want to move. We define a tight KPI framework, build a measurement plan against it, and leave you with a roadmap your team can actually execute. Strategy first, then implementation. That order matters.

01

What's Included

Business Objectives Mapping

We start with what you are trying to decide, not what the tool tracks by default. A focused workshop surfaces the business questions your analytics should actually answer.

KPI Framework

Definition of North Star metric, supporting KPIs, and leading indicators. Each metric mapped to business objectives with clear success criteria.

Measurement Plan

A tracking plan documenting every event, parameter, and dimension needed to measure your KPIs accurately.

Data Governance

Framework for maintaining data quality: naming conventions, documentation standards, change management, and quality assurance processes.

Analytics Roadmap

Phased implementation plan prioritizing quick wins and long-term capabilities. What to build now, what can wait, and what requires investment.

Team Enablement

Training and documentation to ensure your team can maintain and evolve the measurement strategy independently.

02

Strategy Process

Discovery Workshop

Collaborative sessions with stakeholders to understand business model, customer journey, decision-making processes, and current analytics maturity.

Current State Assessment

Audit of existing analytics setup, tools, and processes. What's working? What's missing? Where are the gaps between what you measure and what you need?

KPI Definition

We define your North Star metric and supporting KPIs, ensuring each metric is actionable, measurable, and directly tied to business outcomes.

Measurement Planning

Detailed documentation of tracking requirements: events, parameters, user properties, and conversion definitions needed to measure your KPIs.

Roadmap Creation

Phased implementation plan with priorities, dependencies, and resource requirements. Clear path from current state to analytics maturity.

Documentation & Handover

Complete strategy documentation including KPI framework, measurement plan, governance guidelines, and training materials for your team.

Common questions

What is an analytics strategy, and do I need one?
It is the plan that connects your business questions to what you actually measure. You need one if you are tracking everything but using almost none of it, or if your dashboards never change a decision. The strategy comes before the GA4 setup, so the setup measures what matters.
What's the difference between a measurement plan and an analytics strategy?
The strategy decides which business questions and KPIs matter; the measurement plan defines the exact events and parameters that capture them. Strategy first, then the plan, then implementation. Skipping the strategy is why so many setups collect data nobody trusts.
How do you decide which KPIs to track?
I work backward from the decisions you need to make and the revenue you want to move, not from whatever the tool reports by default. That keeps the metric set small, honest, and tied to outcomes instead of vanity numbers.
Can't I just install GA4 and work out the strategy later?
You can, and most do, which is exactly why their dashboards go unused. A short strategy up front costs far less than re-tagging a whole site after the events were built around the wrong questions.
