Why export GA4 to BigQuery?
The GA4 interface samples large queries and hides row-level detail. BigQuery gives you raw, unsampled, every-event data that you own and can join with CRM, cost, and revenue data. It is the difference between a fixed report and answering any question you can think of.
How much does the GA4 to BigQuery export cost?
The export itself is free. You pay Google Cloud for storage and queries, which for most sites is a few pounds a month, and the BigQuery sandbox lets you start at no cost. I set it up to stay within the free or low-cost tiers wherever possible.
Do I need a data engineer to use BigQuery?
No. I build the pipelines and dashboards so your team reads plain answers rather than writing SQL. When you do want custom analysis, I write the queries and document them so they are repeatable.
